Blak Comedy and Indigenous Cultural Perspectives on Humour
Womba (an Australian Aboriginal word for crazy, mad) World is simply a commentary on the world through the eyes of an Australian Aboriginal woman. An Indigenous point of view. Indigenous people view and relate to the world differently; in a unique and humorous way. This is my life.....by Angelina Hurley.
Hi Sis,
ReplyDeleteYour PhD sounds absolutely awesome and I look forward to Reconciliation Rescue. How I laugh up at "moisten", that's proper everyday blackfella comedy.
I often incorporate a few things to laugh about when working with mob on housing, native title or urban/regional development matters. It always helps to relax people and secure that shared identity.
Even in desperate or sad times blackfellas find something to have a giggle about.
This is wonderful! Congratulations on the work, the coming degree, and ....! I look forward to the book before too long!!! "Indian humor" is notoriously different from white humor and Vine Deloria was the best practitioner of it - though Dallas Goldtooth and his comedy group are adding.....
ReplyDeleteNice pic and profile! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThat’s great Angelina. As we have discussed many times, apart from the show itself, there is so much fascinating discussion to be had about the overall topic of ‘indigenous humor’....I look forward to reading all this when you are done.
ReplyDeleteWell done you!
