This is an ongoing problem for Indigenous peoples and culture. My family
has been victims of the breaches of both on numerous occasions.
Everyone knows or should know that Indigenous culture and all its
content belong to Indigenous people. However, there are ways to work
with Indigenous peoples and a simple part of that process is to get
permission....just ask.
We want to be respected and acknowledged as the rightful owners of our
own work and culture. So if you want to use this material you must ask
me first and always acknowledge me as the author and copyright owner.Because if you don’t, you might find my realtives and myself sittin’ in
a car outside your house, at the crack of dawn, and we won’t be
waving........Nah just gammon, kinda.
Womba (an Australian Aboriginal word for crazy, mad, insane) World is simply a commentary on the world through the eyes of an Australian Aboriginal woman. An Indigenous point of view. Indigenous people view and relate to the world differently; in a unique and humorous way. This is my life.
